『大陸』ウィットブレッド文学賞処女作賞、デイヴィッド・ヒザム文学賞、ガーディアン賞、『石の賜物』GAP国際文学賞、『避難信号』ウィニフレッド・ホルツビー記念賞、『四十日』ブッカー賞最終候補、ウィットブレッド文学賞、E・M・フォースター賞、『死んでいる』全米批評家協会賞受賞、ニューヨークタイムズ年間最優秀作品。2015年ダブリン文学賞受賞。
