Harold E. Varmus

Harold Eliot Varmus (lahir 18 Disember 1939) ialah seorang ahli sains Amerika yang memenangi Hadiah Nobel yang merupakan pengarah Institut Kesihatan Kebangsaan dari 1993 hingga 1999 dan Pengarah Institut Kanser Kebangsaan ke-14 dari tahun 2010 hingga 2015, jawatan yang mana beliau telah dilantik oleh Presiden Barack Obama.^[1] Beliau ialah penerima bersama (bersama-sama dengan J. Michael Bishop) daripada Hadiah Nobel dalam Fisiologi atau Perubatan 1989 untuk menemui asal-usul sel-sel onkogen retroviral Beliau kini adalah Profesor Perubatan Universiti Lewis Thomas di Perubatan Weill Cornell dan Ketua Kanan di Pusat Genom New York.
