Kura-kura Bergerigi (Cyclemys dentata)^[2] adalah spesies kura-kura yang terdapat di Asia Tenggara, termasuk Malaysia. Mereka biasa terdapat dalam perdagangan haiwan peliharaan; tempurung carapace mereka menyerupai Cuora amboinensis hibrid .

Saiz

Kura-kura Bergerigi boleh membesar sehingga 6 hingga 9.5 inci (15 hingga 24 cm) panjang dan 4.5 hingga 6.5 inci lebar.

Ciri-ciri

Kura-kura Bergerigi ini akan memancutkan kandungan sistem pencernaannya apabila ia merasa terancam. Kura-kura Bergerigi tergolong dalam kumpulan haiwan yang dikenali sebagai kura-kura, yang merujuk secara umum kepada haiwan yang tergolong dalam golongan benda hidup, alam haiwan, bertulang belakang (vertebrat), kelas reptilia. Tubuh Kura-kura Bergerigi dilindungi oleh kerangka khas yang terbentuk dari rusuk mereka. Kesemua kura-kura, sama ada yang masih hidup atau telahpun pupus merupakan dari susunan Chelonia, termasuk super susunan Testudines. Ia mampu membesar sehingga sepanjang 15 hingga 24 cm (6 hingga 9.5 inci) dan 4.5 to 6.5 inci lebar.

Pemakanan

Ia merupakan haiwan maserba yang makan haiwan yang dapat ditangkap oleh mereka termasuk invertebrata, siput, moluska, ketam, ikan, udang, serangga, katak, cacing dan tumbuhan.

Pembiakan

Tempoh matang kura-kura ini tidak diketahui. Kura-kura Daun Asia betina akan membina sarang dan bertelur sehingga 5 kali dengan 2 hingga 4 biji serangkap di tebing paya atau kolam setiap tahun.

Telur-telur itu akan dikambus dan ditinggalkan tanpa dijaga untuk berkembang bersendirian. Selepas menetas, anak kura-kura akan menggali keluar dari sarang di bawah tanah mereka dan merangkak keluar untuk mencari perlindungan di dalam air.

Taburan

Kura-kura ini boleh didapati di Utara India, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Kemboja, Vietnam, Malaysia Barat, Indonesia (Sumatera, Jawa, Borneo, Bali), Filipina (Palawan: Kepulauan Calamian dll.), dan China.
